Globally, food loss and waste account for 8-10% of annual greenhouse gas emissions—nearly five times the total output of the aviation sector. Food waste reduction projects across the globe are accelerating as they present an opportunity to create immediate climate impact while unlocking major benefits for food businesses, people, and the planet.

Join World Resources Institute, World Wildlife Fund, Global Foodbanking Network, WRAP, and ReFED for a morning session highlighting how:

  • Food waste is one of the most addressable global climate challenges of our time
  • Food businesses are taking action now and creating real results through country-based pacts
  • Community-based organizations are increasingly rescuing and redistributing surplus food through partnerships with governments and businesses

A short networking session will follow the formal program. Light snacks and refreshments will be served.
