Join the World Resources Institute (WRI) Polsky Energy Center for a one-hour webinar on clean energy procurement pathways for local governments. WRI and partners will provide a practical overview of clean energy procurement pathways, including green tariffs, power purchase agreements (PPAs) and other utility-led programs. Attendees will also learn how evolving market conditions, such as the phaseout of federal clean energy tax credits and increasing load forecasts, are influencing procurement strategies and affecting progress toward municipal clean energy goals.
The session will feature presentations from leading experts on green tariff opportunities and current PPA market trends, followed by a city spotlight on Reno. The Environmental Services Manager for City of Reno, Suzanne Groneman, will share how they are partnering with their utility, influencing state legislation and procuring clean energy multiple different ways. The webinar will conclude with a panel discussion to highlight how other cities can navigate procurement pathways, utility engagement and regulatory processes in order to access cost-effective clean energy.
