2nd National Dialogue on Long-Term Climate Strategy in Brazil
The Brazil we want in 2050: pathways to decarbonization, climate resilience, and inclusive development
Brazil is at a decisive moment in its climate agenda. The approval of the Climate Plan and the consolidation of the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 mark a new phase in national climate policy. The current challenge is to turn commitments into concrete pathways for economic, social, and territorial transformation.
But what will the country look like in the coming decades? In what context will net-zero emissions be achieved, climate adaptation strengthened, and climate justice promoted? And what are the most effective pathways to get there?
The 2nd National Dialogue on Long-Term Climate Strategy (LTS) will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders to reflect on this future and discuss how the development of a national LTS can support the planning of these transformations.
The program will convene representatives from science, government, the private sector, and civil society to discuss the role of LTS in accelerating decarbonization in Brazil, strengthening climate resilience, and promoting a just and inclusive transition.
The initiative is part of the 2050 is Now project, a global consortium that supports governments in developing and implementing robust long-term climate strategies aligned with a just transition.
