This one-hour brown bag shares findings under the AI Mapping for Small-Scale Farm Transformation project. WRI Africa’s Food Program has developed  AI tool for mapping small-scale farms in Africa to guide agricultural decisions and restoration efforts. The AI tool comprises an optimization of Fields of The World model, and a new one built to detect boundaries using multiple resolution satellite data. The newly built model is supporting the development of use case for the Kenya Space Agency’s Murang’a County crop mapping initiative and highly localized mapping of restoration on farms in Kenya and Rwanda.
