Land Sector and Removals Standard Launch Webinar
On January 30, GHG Protocol released the Land Sector and Removals (LSR) Standard, establishing the first global benchmark for companies to account for emissions and CO2 removals from agricultural land use and CO2 removals from emerging technologies like direct air capture. While land use accounts for nearly a quarter of global emissions, companies have historically lacked a credible method to report these impacts. This new Standard fills that critical gap in corporate GHG inventory accounting.
Join GHG Protocol experts for this launch event to learn what’s included in the Standard and how it applies to your company. During the event, speakers will demonstrate how the LSR Standard provides companies with road-tested methods to report land-sector impacts with the same rigor as energy use. We will discuss how these rules equip businesses—from global food producers to apparel retailers—to track their progress and disclose their climate impact with confidence.
The webinar will also cover how the Standard breaks new ground by introducing rules to credibly account for and report CO2 removals in a GHG inventory. We will discuss how these high-integrity requirements enable companies to track progress toward net zero targets, which is essential for limiting warming to 1.5C. Participants will leave with a clear introduction to the Standard and what comes next.
